Marlie's Rugby World Cup predictions

We caught up with Marlie Packer to find out all her 2015 Rugby World Cup predictions.

Ones to watch

'If selected I think Sam Burgess will definitely be a player to watch. There has been so much hype and speculation about his switch from league to union but he’s shown his ability in the warm-ups and his leadership both on and off the pitch could be key.

His Bath teammate George Ford is also a really exciting young talent and gives England a different dimension offensively. This certainly could be the tournament for him to take centre stage.

Away from England two players to keep a close eye on this World Cup are George North of Wales and David Denton of Scotland.'

Who’s going to win?

'Unsurprisingly I’m going to tip England to get through their ‘touted group of death’ where they will go head-to-head with both Australia and Wales but also go all the way and win the World Cup!

I feel really confident that they can replicate what the Women’s team did last year and be crowned World Champions, which would be an incredible feat for English rugby.

The crowd will also play a massive part and I’m sure they will act as a sixteenth man throughout. It’s a great honour to represent your country but to play in front of a crowd who are fully behind you and cheering you on from the first whistle to the last is a massive boost especially in those tough game-changing moments.'
